Chi Alpha Newsletter: 2012 Summer Trainings Completed

Dear Friends and Partners of Chi Alpha,

Thank you for your continuous prayer and support for Chi Alpha Student Ministries. We have recently concluded our summer trainings for 2012. It was a great time visiting different places and training the youth, seeing their hunger for God and to learn from our trainings. The following were the places we have conducted Chi Alpha trainings:

- Oriental Mindoro - 170+ delegates
- El Nido Palawan
- Legaspi City - 20+ delegates
- Lagawe, Ifugao - 100+ delegates
- San Fernando, Pampanga - 25 delegates
- Calbayog, Samar - 40+ delegates

On our last Luzon training held in San Fernando, Pampanga last May 30-June 1, we are rejoicing because even though we have a small number, the group's passion to reach the campus was just as stronger. First night started with a great outpouring of the Holy Spirit. 3 groups were represented in the training: San Fernando, Pampanga, Sta. Maria, Bulacan, and Mariveles and Balanga, Bataan. Each targeting a nearby university, college or high school. On the 3rd day, we visited Don Honorio Ventura Technological State University in Bacolor, Pampanga to do prayerwalking and evangelism exposure. Pray with us that Chi Alpha will be fully established in this prime and only state university in the province.

I also have to acknowledge also the awesome Chi Alpha teams that have been so dedicated to this vision. This summer we have experienced ministry together and going through victories and momentary setbacks. Their commitment and company makes this ministry more enjoyable and fulfilling than it already is.

I also had the privilege to participate in this year's Asian Institute of Youth Studies held last May 15-25 in Asia Pacific Theological Seminary, Baguio City. AIYS is held every 3-4 years and caters to youth and campus workers of the Asia Pacific. This year's AIYS was the biggest to date with 100 delegates from 18 nations, 35 of those come from the Philippines. I had the privilege to teach session on training student leaders in the Campus Ministry track. It was an awesome experience sharing what God is doing among the students and in Chi Alpha in the Philippines.

Finally, I would like again to say thank you for your valuable support to our ministry. God's provision in the form of your prayers and support have kept us going farther and stronger. Your investment to this ministry have affected the lives of students and made an impact in God's kingdom for eternity. We ask you to once again to partner with us through prayer:

1. NEW SCHOOL YEAR - Pray for local Chi Alpha chapters as they begin a new school year of student ministry, that more students will be won and discipled to Christ.

2. LUZON - Pray for new opportunities and desired targets: (Luzon) Baguio, Naga, Masbate, Occidental Mindoro, Ilocos Area, Zambales, Tarlac.

3. VISAYAS - Pray for the Visayas Regional Team as they do their ministry in the Visayas. The team is led by our full time campus missionary Merla Laanan. They will have upcoming trainings in Catbalogan, Cebu and Palawan.

4. MINDANAO - Pray for Mindanao, while local Chi Alpha chapters are existing and flourishing, we ask you to pray as we reestablish our regional presence and coordination in the area.

5. NEW SEASON - Pray for our new season in ministry of Chi Alpha Philippines. In the next few years we will be establishing the Campus Missionary Movement and University Church Planting Program. Pray for wisdom and vision as we establish this program.

Please continue to support our Bible program. We are selling Chi Alpha Bibles as means of support for our workers. Each bible costs P200 for paperback and P500 for leather stingray.

Thank you and may God richly bless you,

For God & For Students,

Patrick & Nette
